This Library Basics workbook is intended to introduce Connecticut College students to the basics of using the library for research. It focuses on the practical (e.g. how to) rather than the theoretical (e.g. why).

Practically speaking, the Research Support librarians want all new Connecticut College students to know how to use our wonderful library. For starters, this involves working with:

  • print books
  • ebooks
  • peer-reviewed journal articles
  • research databases
  • and creating citations for these sources

Using the library can transform your education and open doors of opportunity you never knew existed.  It all starts with having the curiosity to read and the courage to read widely and often.

Please take advantage of our library collections, and our library staff, too. We’re here to help. You can contact us through the Connecticut College Libraries website anytime.
