Survey to intern
We value feedback and encourage interns to complete a survey to help us improve the program in the future. Interns are asked four brief questions about favorite projects and missing topics. We use the responses in this publication as well as taking into account any criticism that we can improve upon.
Survey Questions
- Briefly describe your internship experience – librarians you worked with, projects you completed, skills learned, etc.
- What was your favorite project and why?
- What would you have liked to learn more about?
- Please provide any final comments or suggestions that would help improve our internship program.
Feedback from Supervisor and Team
The intern receives a complete report from all supervisors. The report includes a summary of projects, assessment of work habits and recommendations for improvement.
Self-Assessment
The intern is encouraged to keep a journal to document projects and skills learned. We also advise updating a resume throughout the internship with new experience and skills to promote awareness of new strengths and learning. The intern may wish to write a blog post on Researchscapes in order to publicize the experience.
Intern Viewpoint
“Being able to digitize this periodical brings a valuable resource into the light and it will be much more accessible to those interested in recycling and composting history. I am a firm believer in knowing the past helps know what the future holds.” – Abigail Ricklin, intern Spring 2022
Inspired by the Book Interview
Inspired by the Book is a series of interviews with Connecticut College folks about their literary lives. Inspiration comes from The New York Times Book Review series called By the Book.
Our intern Hana Tanabe ’22 was interviewed for the series in January 2023. Read Hana’s interview, Inspired by the Book: A Completely Fictional & Fantastic New World for her reading habits and suggestions.
