Cheeseburger Bites (Meat Surprises)
Personal Note
“This recipe was passed down from my great-grandmother. Each Christmas, we turn our kitchen into the meat surprise factory, singing along to festive music and laughing together. It’s more than food—it’s family.” —Ella Brady

Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) package of grated cheddar cheese
- 7 (8 oz) packages of crescent roll dough
- 1 envelope French onion soup mix
- 1¼ lbs ground beef
Instructions
- In a medium frying pan, sauté the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the onion soup mix, followed by the grated cheese. Let the cheese melt into the mixture, then remove from heat and allow it to cool completely.
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- On a cutting board, unroll one package of crescent dough. Cut each triangle in half to make 16 smaller triangles per package.
- Flatten each triangle slightly with your fingers. Place about 1 teaspoon of the cooled beef mixture in the center.
- Fold the three corners of the triangle over the filling to form a sealed ball. Pinch to close any openings.
- Repeat with all dough and filling. Place the bites seam-side down on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 13–15 minutes until golden brown.
- To freeze, allow bites to cool, then store in an airtight container. Reheat from frozen in a microwave for 30 seconds or bake at 350°F for 10–15 minutes.
